A New Chapter for Sonoma’s Iconic Retreat

Sonoma’s Russian River Valley welcomes a renewed expression of California wine country with the official debut of Vinarosa Resort & Spa. Formerly known as Vintners Resort, the newly reimagined property has undergone a $15+ million transformation under the vision of Ensemble Hospitality. Reopening in July 2025, the 92-acre working vineyard has been reborn as a design-forward sanctuary that blends pastoral charm with contemporary elegance, poised to redefine destination hospitality in the region.

With interiors by Oakland-based design firm ARCSINE and a hospitality philosophy rooted in serenity, craftsmanship, and local terroir, Vinarosa introduces a thoughtful sense of place that reflects both its agricultural legacy and a renewed attention to detail. The result is a resort experience layered in texture, memory, and quiet sophistication—just 60 miles north of San Francisco.

Design That Honors Heritage and Invites Discovery

The transformation touches every corner of the estate. Interiors take cues from the soul of Provence—plum, olive, honey, and lavender hues pair with hand-selected oak and walnut woods, while heirloom artwork and tactile textiles evoke stories of generational discovery and cultivation.

The new lobby offers a literal and figurative centerpiece: a living tree rises beneath a hand-laid stone mosaic and skylight, anchoring the entrance in nature. Nearby, a hidden billiards room tucked behind a built-in bookcase adds a sense of play, while the surrounding courtyard blooms with white roses and features new seating nooks, fire pits, and walking paths that invite guests into the landscape.

Guest rooms now feature bespoke elements that merge handcrafted design with utility—tambour wood vanities, statement stone wainscoting, hand-woven carpets modeled after vineyard topography, and fluted wood headboards accompanied by gas fireplaces and curated bar carts with locally crafted spirits.

“There’s a rhythm here between past and present. Every space is meant to be felt—layered, intimate, and connected to the land.”

Elizabeth Dillon, Director of Interiors at ARCSINE

A Resort Experience Grounded in the Vineyard

Vinarosa’s immersive approach to hospitality continues outdoors. The newly unveiled resort pool features plush daybeds, private cabanas, and fire pits—each arranged around a full-service pool bar that offers food and beverage service throughout the day. A state-of-the-art fitness center complements the upgraded Spa at Vinarosa, where wellness rituals draw inspiration from nature and are offered alongside a tranquil yoga studio and expansive vineyard-view deck.

Throughout the property, curated pathways lead through olive groves, fig orchards, and active vineyards—each designed to give guests a tactile, grounded connection to the estate. Morning yoga sessions unfold between the vines, while evening wine dinners and picnics are offered beneath the Sonoma sky.

Elevated Farm-to-Table Dining by Chef Sergio Howland

At the heart of the culinary experience is Executive Chef Sergio Howland, who brings renewed vision to John Ash & Co. and the resort’s broader dining program. The new farm-to-table menu is rooted in the estate’s own gardens and orchards, amplified by Sonoma’s seasonal richness.

Chef-led experiences include guided garden tours, vineyard picnics, and personalized wine blending sessions. Every meal is treated as a celebration of provenance—crafted with intent, plated with restraint, and always anchored by a sense of the soil.

With views of the working vineyard just beyond the dining room, guests dine in an atmosphere that feels as curated as the wine list itself—rich with place and purpose.

Sonoma County’s Next Icon of Sustainable Luxury

As the Russian River Valley continues to emerge as a premier destination for discerning travelers, Vinarosa Resort & Spa offers an evolved model of wine country hospitality—one that prioritizes sustainable design, culinary integrity, and a deeply personal guest experience.

The redesign is more than cosmetic—it signals a long-term vision for California hospitality that respects the past while confidently stepping into the future. With reservations now open, Vinarosa is poised to become a new benchmark in Sonoma’s luxury landscape—quiet, cultivated, and exquisitely attuned to the land it calls home.
