As we get closer and closer to 2025 we want to think about how we have treated ourselves this year. It’s very important to look after our families, our loved ones and our friends but a lot of busy people or if we are mothers who don’t get a second spare some days, we tend to neglect ourselves quite a lot. When people become mums they sometimes don’t even shower for days on end because they’re just so busy. While it’s important to look after everyone else, it is also important to look after yourself. You need to make sure you are caring for yourself and your needs and looking after your mental health as well as your body physically. You can’t pull from an empty cup so you need to be able to give yourself rest and downtime to feel energised and ready to take on the world and look after your loved ones.

Implement Exercise Into Your Life

A great first step is to add exercise to your routine. Exercise is a great thing to not only help you look better and also help you feel better so it improves your physical and mental health All in one. It can be quite easy to implement size into your routine Whether you are a gym goer or haven’t exercised in years. If you aren’t feeling confident enough to join a class or go to the gym, there are still so many different options that you can do to implement exercise into a daily routine. One of the easy and free exercises is walking. It’s very low impact and if you set yourself a goal of 10,000 steps a day you can still see an improvement in your health from very little effort. As we are in winter and we have very little daylight if you go to work, you can also invest in a walking pad. This is a great thing that is compact that you can put away and get out in the evening to use. You can pop in front of the TV and binge-watch your favourite series while walking the whole time. It doesn't feel like exercise at all but it’s good for your health.

Another great exercise which is a bit more strenuous is Pilates. Pilates again has classes that you can join or you can do it at home. You can even get special Pilates equipment to use at home and do the workouts with YouTube videos. It is certainly one of the most popular forms of exercise on social media at the moment and it can make you very fit and very strong. It is certainly something you want to look into. If you’re not quite at the Pilates stage yet you could also look at yoga which again has thousands and thousands of YouTube videos available so you don’t even have to pay to do it.

Improve Your Looks And Confidence

It isn’t a secret that when we look good, we feel good. That is one of the reasons the makeup industry is so big. We aren’t trying to impress people all the time but it just makes us feel better and asking and feel more happy and confident in ourselves. There’s nothing wrong with that and if it helps you feel happier and get stuff done throughout the day, then go for it. There are ways that you can improve your looks without wearing make-up every day so you have an effortlessly natural look. You could do things like lip stains which can make your lips a beautiful colour for longer, eyebrow tint and eyelash tint as well as eyelash extensions. Some people even go as far as to use a tan to contour their face so they don’t have to put make-up on every day. You could also improve any imperfections that you aren’t happy with. You could do this with Botox and different cosmetic surgeries to help you feel more confident and happy. You can get Botox injections to improve all sorts of areas and it’s always best to speak to a specialist and the best course of action before we make any semi-permanent changes. You could go to a tanning salon to give yourself a natural glow and so many other things to help you feel better. The world is your oyster.

If you do one thing you should be focusing on your mental health. It’s been a rough few years for a lot of people with the economy and everything going on so you mustn’t neglect these things in your life. There are small things that you can do each day to contribute towards better mental well-being. These include things like journalling, journalling can help you get all of your emotions out on the page so you aren’t always feeling like everything is bottled up. You can also take it one step further and try counselling. You can get to the root cause of any problems and be able to deal with them in a better way going forward. You can make sure you have mental health days if you are struggling with work and just need a day to recharge and don't let yourself get burnt out. There are so many mental health charities that have great advice and guidance on how best to approach this so definitely look into it if it’s something you feel that you need. Another option for you to try at home is to try meditating. There are different apps you can use like Headspace and guided meditation videos on YouTube that you can follow. These can help me feel more at peace and calm in everyday life and reduce anxiety.
