Messy, Honest, and Gloriously Human: The Journey Behind Random Thoughts

Every writer has that moment—the quiet, slightly unhinged realization that the stories worth telling aren’t the perfect ones. They’re the messy, raw, painfully relatable truths we usually try to hide behind a curated Instagram grid.

For me, that moment came at 2 a.m., mid-panic attack, surrounded by unfolded laundry, a stale mug of coffee, and the kind of existential dread that only sleep-deprived parents can truly appreciate.

It’s not a parenting manual. It’s not a self-help book. It’s a survival guide, wrapped in a hug, with a glass of wine and a few curse words thrown in. It’s for the people who feel like they’re barely holding it together—but keep showing up anyway.

I’m a gay dad of twins, raising my daughters through surrogacy while running a business, running on fumes, and sometimes just... running away to the bathroom for five minutes of peace. These essays aren’t about being a perfect parent or a polished person. They’re about showing up—tired, messy, flawed—and finding strength in the vulnerability.

“The moment I realized I was both the grown-up and the emotional toddler in the room, I was holding a juice box in one hand and questioning my entire life with the other. That’s parenting. That’s adulthood. That’s the beautiful mindfck of being alive.”

Random Thoughts lives in the margins: the in-between moments, the behind-the-scenes spirals, the quiet triumphs we don’t always post about. It’s the book I wish I had when I was stumbling through those sleepless nights wondering if I was the only one quietly falling apart while holding everything together.

This journey wasn’t easy—but it was honest. And in a world addicted to filters and five-step fixes, maybe that’s what we need most: honesty. Humor. Humanity.

If you’ve ever hidden in a bathroom stall to catch your breath, Googled “how to adult” at 2 a.m., or questioned everything while folding a tiny pair of Paw Patrol pajamas—this one’s for you.

Because life is messy. But it’s also honest. And if you let it, it can be gloriously, beautifully human.

Coming May 15, 2025: Random Thoughts. Not polished. Not perfect. Just real. And hopefully, something that makes you feel a little more seen.
