San Diego, CA – March 21, 2025 – The 2025 San Diego Impact Luncheon, hosted by Susan G. Komen, brought together leaders in healthcare, business, and advocacy to amplify breast cancer awareness and strengthen support systems for patients. The event focused on overcoming barriers to treatment access and funding, and united survivors, medical experts, and corporate partners to ignite meaningful conversations and inspire action.

A deeply moving highlight of the luncheon was a testimony from Kelly, a breast cancer survivor, who shared her personal journey with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, diagnosed in 2024 during a routine mammogram. With her husband’s unwavering support, Kelly successfully completed treatment and emerged as a beacon of hope. Her story illustrated the life-saving importance of early detection and the vital role of family support in the healing process.

The event was emceed by Karlene Chavis, Chief Meteorologist at CBS 8 and a longtime advocate for breast cancer awareness. Distinguished speakers from Susan G. Komen addressed significant developments in breast cancer research, underscoring the need for health education and equitable access to care.
