MG Developer, long synonymous with upscale residential projects across Coral Gables, is now expanding its footprint into luxury hospitality and wellness. On June 18, 2025, the firm officially unveiled Regency Padel, a public and private padel court concept located on the grounds of the 176-key Regency Miami Airport by Sonesta. The launch marks the developer’s strategic foray into lifestyle-forward recreation—rooted in sport, but designed with Miami’s high-end social energy in mind.

"With Regency Padel, we’re creating more than just a court, we’re building experiences that bring people together through sport, design, and lifestyle."

Alirio Torrealba, CEO of MG Developer

A New Chapter for MG Developer

Known for projects like Alhambra Parc and The Village at Coral Gables, MG Developer has consistently focused on curating timeless environments with a sense of place. The addition of Regency Padel broadens that vision, merging their architectural expertise with a growing cultural interest in wellness-driven amenities and experience-oriented travel.

Padel, a fast-growing racquet sport that blends elements of tennis and squash, has exploded in popularity across the U.S.—and Miami in particular. With over 750,000 players nationwide and a steadily expanding infrastructure of courts and clubs, the sport has evolved from niche hobby to luxury lifestyle staple.

Set adjacent to the hotel’s pool deck, the Regency Padel courts introduce not only a new amenity but a new social hub for travelers, locals, and corporate groups seeking to combine recreation with connection.

A Launch Celebration Rooted in Community and Culture

The grand opening event—equal parts competition and celebration—featured exhibition matches, live ball clinics by Padel Galis, and a showcase of local favorites. The Venezuelan National Pickleball Team made a special appearance, bringing competitive flair to the padel stage, while the team from Miami Slice fueled the crowd with artisan pizza pop-ups.

Craft coffee was provided by Cienfuegos Coffee, and Caiman Cane, Red Bull, and Polar lent energy and atmosphere to the launch, transforming the courtside environment into a sophisticated lounge-meets-sports complex. The event served not only as an introduction to the new facility but as a declaration of MG Developer’s evolving brand—one rooted in community, culture, and activation.

Year-Round Access with Tech-Driven Ease

Now open to the public, Regency Padel offers both residents and travelers a seamless experience through the Playtomic app, which allows players to reserve courts, sign up for clinics, and join upcoming tournaments. With additional summer programming already in motion, the site is poised to become a recurring destination for Miami’s growing base of padel enthusiasts.

The location also plays to MG Developer’s strategic advantage: situated at 1000 NW 42 Avenue, the Regency Miami Airport Hotel is within a 10-minute radius of Miami International Airport, Coral Gables, and several Fortune 500 headquarters—including FIFA’s newly opened Miami office, a timely development as the city gears up to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Beyond Real Estate

With the launch of Regency Padel, MG Developer is moving beyond traditional property development and into multi-dimensional lifestyle design—where wellness, architecture, hospitality, and local culture intersect. For the city of Miami, it signals an increasingly sophisticated take on sport and leisure, one that doesn’t compromise on design or intention.

Summary

As padel continues to surge in popularity and Miami positions itself as a global hub for sport, business, and hospitality, Regency Padel arrives at the right moment. More than just a court, it's an ecosystem—a place to connect, play, recover, and repeat. For MG Developer, it’s a new kind of ground break—this time, with a racket in hand.
