5 Home Design Ideas For Picture Perfect Valentine's Day

They say, "cupid knows best," but Debbie Travin knows better. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, Debbie shares some top tips for setting up a picture-perfect romance from scratch – in your backyard!

The ideas for Valentine's day seem to be plain and repetitive – you could always take your date to a nice dinner and then a movie, or, perhaps you want to cook at home and rent a movie – but who wants to be ordinary?

Enter Debbie, here to help you raise the bar with your Valentine's Day date and come up with something completely different that will be romantic, memorable, and appreciated.

Not sure where to start?

  1. FLORAL FANTASY: Leave a trail of rose petals on the way to your backyard fantasy. Add a beautiful bouquet of pink, red, and rose gold flowers on the table as a V-Day centerpiece

  1. FILL THE AIR WITH LOVE:  Nothing says romance like a traditional candlelit dinner. Indulge in scents such as vanilla, rose, or lavender to match the V-Day mood. Don't be afraid of going over the top… Add lots of white and votive candles on the table and take it a step further by decorating your entire outside space!
  2. SPLURGE ON ROMANTIC TABLEWARE: A heavenly Valentine's Day table setting is brought to us with silver and white fine China, stemware, wine glasses, and cloth napkins — be sure to add a hint of rose petals for the finishing touch!
  1. CREATE A LOUNGE-LIKE ATMOSPHERE: Incorporate large white chairs with comfortable cushioning, while experiencing a real "Pinterest" like daydream.
  2. CURATE A COZY DINNER FOR TWO: Now is the time to splurge on high-end bubbly champagne for your significant other. Let's face it, they deserve it! Pour some drinks and start your meal off with a heart-shaped charcuterie board followed by a creamy lobster risotto. End the dining experience by feeding each other chocolate-covered strawberries accompanied by a light raspberry sorbet. It's sure to leave your other half smitten!

Travin has decades of experience designing custom luxury homes for discerning clientele in New York City, the Hamptons, Scarsdale, Miami, Naples, and Boca Raton.

Travin's artistry, keen attention to detail, and proclivity to ensure spectacular service has led DLT to become the finest Florida and New York interior designers. Travin, along with her team, begins every project from a place of raw creativity, curating pieces that are uniquely designed and customized. From

specially made furniture to custom-built lighting, every design detail is personally tailored to bring the client's vision to life and surpass any expectations. "We love to feature unique lighting as a statement piece. It adds the 'wow' factor, like jewelry accenting the space and illuminating the overall design aesthetic," said Travin.

Travin's recent projects, which she describes as modern coastal, included designing a 2,000 sf penthouse in Miami Beach with magnificent oceanfront views for a family of six. The gut renovation included a spectacular custom kosher kitchen with two sinks, two dishwashers, and a three-inch Calcutta Gold marble countertop with a backsplash. Other highlights include Mother of Pearl lighting, custom built-in bookcases with bars on each side, and motorized textured linen window treatments.

Travin also just completed a five-bedroom, 10,000 sf condominium with a wraparound terrace and spectacular ocean views in Naples. Travin said that every single detail of this project was specially curated as well, including the dining room's 8-foot linear crystal chandelier with organic silver branches, the family room with custom built-ins and accent wall with a fireplace, the luxurious master suite with a crystal chandelier and multi-crystal pendants over each night table and the media room's reclining Ultrasuede chairs.

DLT Interiors creates fresh, stylish, modern designs mixed with classic elegance forging a timeless aesthetic. Travin calls her approach "classic with a modern twist" and designs with longevity and the client's vision at the forefront. She believes in a mix of contemporary and clean lines with traditional features create a medley and harmony between the worlds and provides a stylish as well as a comfortable and liveable environment.

DLT Interiors serves as a "one-stop-shop" for all of Travin's clients looking for home remodeling/ interior design. They only have the top contractors, meticulous millwork/cabinetry specialists, expert window treatment and upholsterers, and architects.

Since Travin grew up in the world of haute couture accompanying her family on business trips to Italy to purchase men's luxury fashion, she always had an innate sense of style and an acute eye for color. Inspired by her grandmother, who was an interior designer, her passion for interior design further developed when she bought a house in Scarsdale, New York. She already had a vision for the kind of home she wanted, one with a lot of space and a beautiful, spacious backyard. However, there were no such properties in the neighborhood she liked, so when she came across a park-like property with a custom pool, she decided to have it completely reconstructed and remodeled.

After the house was completely reconstructed and they were finished decorating, Travin's architect took potential clients to see his work. Every person who viewed the property asked who the interior designer was – and that is when Travin realized that 5 Home Design Ideas was her talent and her passion. She went back to school to study at the New York School of Interior Design and started her own business. DLT Interiors has since been awarded "Best of Houzz" by

top interior designers multiple times.

Travin works, she explains, by approaching every project on an individual basis with thoughtful attention to the ideas, needs, personalities, and lifestyles of her clients. Her website has many impactful client reviews describing her high level of professionalism, pristine attention to detail, and impeccable taste, and notes Travin has an intuitive and artistic sense of how to use space and magically turn an environment into a chic and luxurious area that is a joy to spend time in.

Travin's work takes her all over the United States but she loves working in the Magic City and throughout South Florida. As a result of the pandemic, Debbie has created a unique space designing from a distance. Her turnkey approach and seamless execution have garnered remote clients throughout the U.S. who put their full trust into the DLT team from gut reno to end result. Most clients won't see the final product until completion, making the big reveal just as rewarding for Travin as it is for DLT clients.

She has truly earned her incredible reputation as not only a highly skilled interior designer but also, according to a recent client, she is an "incredible person who is empathic and enthusiastic and always resolves everything to make you feel in the best hands, and the truth is that with her, you are in the best hands!."
