Now, it’s earning equal recognition for a deeper mission: protecting the marine ecosystems it calls home.

This Earth Week, The Diplomat Beach Resort underscores its commitment to environmental leadership with the launch of new eco-educational programs, creative conservation partnerships, and measurable sustainability goals that speak directly to the future of luxury travel with purpose.

In collaboration with Ocean Rescue Alliance International (ORAI), the resort introduces a refreshed Kids’ Club experience, designed to instill ocean stewardship in young travelers. Rather than standard crafts or poolside distractions, the program invites children to engage with hands-on, marine-focused activities—from sculpting reef structures with non-toxic clay to crafting sea-inspired artwork using reusable and plastic-free materials.

This initiative reflects a broader, ongoing partnership with ORAI—backed by a $30,000 donation—and will soon expand to include the installation of an artificial reef sculpture off the coast in partnership with the City of Hollywood. In partnership with the Marine Environmental Education Center (MEEC) at Nova Southeastern University, The Diplomat offers its guests access to one of South Florida’s most respected hubs for sea turtle research and marine education. Located just minutes from the resort, MEEC provides guided experiences including sea turtle meet-and-greets and interactive learning sessions that connect visitors directly with coastal conservation in action.

To date, the resort’s sustainability measures have produced impressive outcomes:

• Carbon emissions reduced—equivalent to removing over 5,484 cars from the road

• Water conservation—matching the volume of 70 Olympic-sized pools

• Energy savings—comparable to powering 4,747 homes
