On Thursday, October 26 2017, The highly anticipated Blood Ball supports the DKMS mission of eradicating blood cancers and blood disorders, inspiring both men and women around the world to register as bone marrow and blood stem cell donors. The Night of Black Magic included endless visual imagery featuring aerialists, contortionists, tarot card readings, and a performance by Phantom of the Opera star Norm Lewis and Mikaela Bennett. The wonderful event took place at Spring Place in Tribeca, NYC.
The highlight of the night was a surprise donor/patient ceremony where there was a passing of a candle/light between five donors and five patients to symbolize the passing of life.
Talent that attended included model Carmen Carrera, Orange is the New Black actresses Amanda Stephen and Catherine Curtin, fashion designer Yigal Azrouël, actress Lily Lane, actress/former Miss Teen USA Kamie Crawford, model Vlada Roslyakova, actor Michael Maize, model Rain Dove and more.
100 percent of the proceeds from The Blood Ball fund the DKMS mission to delete blood cancer once and for all.

DKMS is providing patients with a second chance at life, working closely with families from diagnosis to transplant and beyond. The donor journey begins with a swab of the cheek that takes less than 60 seconds and can be the action that leads to a lifesaving transplant. DKMS, originally founded in Germany in 1991 by Dr. Peter Harf, has organizations in Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. The U.S. office was started in 2004.
