The summer season got a bit more memorable at Coney Island's Mermaid Parade, where over 3,000 individuals from across the five boroughs showed off their community pride and seafaring side!  Over 800,000 people came to Coney Island's amusement area to witness one of the most artistic parades in the country.  Founded in 1983, the event always spreads joy by brining mythological sea creatures to life!  The parade, which was brought about as a way to pay homage to the neighborhood's artistic community, even welcomed Coney Island natives Arlo and Nora Guthrie – also known as King Neptune and Queen Mermaid!
