Who says you can't get something for nothing? On April 14 at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the Lincoln Center For The Performing Arts (40 Lincoln Plaza-enter on Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street) you can see a performance of The Disc Jockey Was A Lady at no charge. This is a delightful, fun show featuring songs of the '40s with composers such as Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Rodgers and Hart and more.
The show is fact-based on life during World War II. The men were at war and women filled in myriad jobs. Dosh Wallach, a lady DJ would regale audiences with stories of how the war impacted life. She talked about victory gardens, ration coupons, war bonds and V-Mail to the troops. The show starts at 6 p.m. so get there early.
