On May 7, ALINA Residences Boca Raton, the luxury residential enclave developed by El-Ad National Properties, unveiled two captivating bronze sculptures in collaboration with the Boca Raton Museum of Art. Marking a significant addition to Boca Raton's flourishing Public Art Boca initiative, these remarkable works by esteemed American sculptor Richard Erdman amplify the city's dedication to art, beauty, and community enrichment.
Celebrating Art and Community at ALINA 220
At an exclusive gathering held at ALINA 220, distinguished guests, including Boca Raton’s Public Art Coordinator Veronica Hatch, El-Ad National Properties CEO Matthew Jeffries, and the Museum's CEO Dr. Ena Heller, commemorated the unveiling of Erdman’s Continuum (2005) and Belladonna (2005). Both sculptures, generous gifts to the museum by noted philanthropists Carole and Barry Kaye, exemplify Erdman’s distinctive style—harmonious forms sculpted from bronze, capturing graceful, flowing movement.
The event featured enlightening opening remarks from Dr. Heller, who also offered attendees an exclusive preview of the Museum’s upcoming programming. Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a walking tour highlighting these newly installed pieces, culminating in a celebratory champagne toast and guided tours of the luxurious ALINA residences, courtesy of the Douglas Elliman Development Marketing team.
Richard Erdman: Master of Fluidity and Form
Erdman’s sculptures seamlessly blend modern aesthetics with timeless craftsmanship, earning the artist international acclaim. His sculptures, present in prestigious collections from the Museum of Fine Arts Boston to the Rockefeller Collection, embody a nuanced exploration of materiality, form, and spatial harmony. With Continuum and Belladonna positioned prominently along Southeast Mizner Boulevard, residents and visitors alike can now enjoy the profound elegance of Erdman’s artistic vision as part of their everyday environment.
An Expanding Vision of Public Art
ALINA’s partnership with the Boca Raton Museum of Art has flourished since its inception in 2021, when sculptures by Larry Mohr (cXc XXII) and Guy Dill (Key Angel) first transformed Mizner Boulevard’s streetscape. Erdman’s recent additions at ALINA 220 continue this thoughtful integration of fine art into daily life, enriching the city's cultural tapestry.
“At ALINA Residences Boca Raton, we are pleased to share in Boca Raton’s commitment to public art. This delightful event expanded upon our dedication to the Public Art Boca program and now showcases new museum-curated works as part of our streetscape.”
Matthew Jeffries, CEO of El-Ad National Properties
The City of Boca Raton's Public Art Boca program, launched in 2023, underscores the community's broader vision for art as an integral part of urban living, evident in landmark installations like the vibrant murals at Red Reef West and sculptures gracing Wildflower and Silver Palm Parks.
