On June 12, 2025, the Coach Foundation marked a pivotal moment in its philanthropic journey, announcing a $20 million investment to expand its signature Dream It Real scholarship program. The commitment, unveiled during the organization’s annual Dream Day celebration in New York City, doubles down on the Foundation’s mission to remove barriers for under-resourced students across North America—putting it firmly on track to surpass its goal of awarding 10,000 scholarships by 2030 ahead of schedule.
This strategic expansion builds on the Foundation’s seven-year legacy of supporting first-generation college students through a holistic model that combines tuition support, mentorship, and career development. The numbers speak for themselves: 97% of Dream It Real scholars are on track to graduate on time—far outpacing the national average of just 21% for students from comparable socioeconomic backgrounds. What’s more, 94% of participants are the first in their families to attend college, and they graduate with 88% less debt than the national average.
Through long-standing collaborations with leading educational nonprofits Bottom Line and The Opportunity Network, the Coach Foundation has created an infrastructure that not only supports access to higher education but also empowers students to succeed once they get there. These organizations play a central role in helping scholars navigate the academic, financial, and emotional challenges of college life, providing a steady foundation throughout their journey.
Since its inception, the program has awarded over 7,000 scholarships globally. With this new funding, the Foundation aims to significantly increase its footprint in North America, reaching more students through multi-year grants and enhanced support services.
This year’s Dream Day convening brought together over 400 students in an event themed Dream Horizons—a symbolic reflection on what it means to graduate into new possibilities while welcoming the next generation of scholars. For the first time, the gathering recognized a full graduating class of Dream It Real recipients while also inducting the program’s largest incoming cohort.
The day featured dynamic programming including speed mentoring sessions, manifestation stations, and interactive workshops—all designed to foster community and spark forward-thinking dialogue. WNBA stars Kiki Iriafen of the Washington Mystics and Aneesah Morrow of the Connecticut Sun joined as guest speakers, offering insights on perseverance, self-belief, and the importance of carving one’s path with purpose.
“Our new 2030 goals will ensure we can reach even more students who deserve access to pursue their dreams. With an expanded investment in North American programs, we're accelerating our impact and scaling what we know works.”Todd Kahn, Coach CEO and Brand President
The Foundation’s holistic approach positions it as a leader in equitable education initiatives within the fashion industry, and its data-backed outcomes serve as a compelling model for how brands can engage with philanthropy in a way that is both meaningful and measurable.
