Velvet Taco x Chef David Myers: A Michelin-Starred Mezze Moment

Mediterranean Mezze Taco

Velvet Taco’s globally inspired menu takes a Mediterranean turn with a collaboration featuring Michelin-starred “Gypsy Chef” David Myers of ADRIFT Mare. On February 26, the Wynwood and Fort Lauderdale locations will unveil the Mediterranean Mezze Taco, a limited-edition creation blending garlic shrimp, Fresno chili, hummus, tabouli, feta cheese, pickled red onion, and oregano in a charred flour tortilla.

For a more elevated experience, ADRIFT Mare will serve an exclusive three-mini-taco version during happy hour (Tuesday-Friday, 5-8 p.m.), where guests can sip on $10 craft cocktails while soaking in Biscayne Bay views. Even better? A portion of proceeds benefits Food Rescue US - South Florida, supporting hunger relief efforts.

Set in the chic ambiance of the Moore Hotel, the duo’s tasting menu will seamlessly blend Kreuther’s refined French techniques with Anthony’s bold American flavors—each course complemented by expertly crafted Dewar’s Scotch Whisky cocktails.

With limited seating available, this is a rare opportunity to witness two culinary masterminds craft a symphony of flavors.

Bouchon Bistro’s Ode to Truffles

Gnocchi de Pommes de Terre

On February 21, Bouchon Bistro in Coral Gables is inviting gourmands to indulge in the season’s most luxurious ingredient—winter truffles. The three-course prix-fixe menu ($190 per person) features exquisite dishes such as:

  • Gnocchi de Pommes de Terre with Morel mushrooms, Madeira Velouté, and black truffles

  • Snake River Farms Eye of the Rib with Sauce Périgourdine, Truffle Potato Rosti, and Hen of the Woods mushrooms

  • Black Truffle Profiteroles with K+M chocolate sauce and black truffle ice cream

A warm courtyard reception will set the stage for an intimate communal dining experience in the Bocuse Room. Given the restaurant’s impeccable reputation, reservations are highly recommended.

Pisco Perfection at Jarana & La Mar

February is Pisco Month, and two of Miami’s top Peruvian restaurants—Jarana and La Mar by Gastón Acurio—are pulling out all the stops to celebrate the nation’s beloved spirit. Running through February 28, both restaurants will introduce specialty Pisco-based cocktails, with $1 from each drink benefiting the Pachacútec Culinary Institute in Peru, a school founded by Chef Gastón Acurio to support aspiring chefs.

Must-try libations include:

  • Mosto Verde Sour – An ultra-premium twist on the classic Pisco Sour

  • Que Fresca – Torontel Pisco, strawberry-infused Aperol, sweet vermouth, angostura, rosemary

  • El Kion – Acholado Pisco, Malbec, ginger, lime

A Greek Culinary Affair at MO Bar + Lounge

Salmon Dish

From February 15-22, MO Bar + Lounge at Mandarin Oriental, Miami will host an extraordinary pop-up experience, welcoming Chef Bertrand Valegeas of Oliviera (Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino). This week-long residency will highlight traditional Greek flavors, featuring:

  • Melitzanosalata (charcoal eggplant with Xigalo cheese)

  • Taramosalata (cod roe spread with bottarga)

  • Shrimp “Mikrolimano” with watermelon juice, lemon, and basil

  • Oliviera Moussaka – Slow-cooked beef cheeks, eggplant, and béchamel

  • Lobster “Critharoto” – Traditional Greek orzo pasta with lobster

For a touch of mythology, sip on Ambrosia, a cocktail inspired by the nectar of the gods, blending tequila, mescal, Kalamata olives, beets, and grapefruit soda.
