District Will Launch Winter Concert Series

The East Midtown Partnership will host Sounds of The Season, a winter concert series, that will begin on Friday, December 13 and run through Friday, December 20.

"We are celebrating the holidays in the district through the musical talents of local groups and non-profit organizations with five days of free afternoon concerts," said Rob Byrnes, President of the East Midtown Partnership. "We're honored to provide this special event to the residents and their families, businesses and tourists in the area."

Musical groups will be performing at various locations throughout East Midtown in the early afternoon. Participants include:
The Filomen M. D'Agostino Greenberg Music School at Lighthouse International – the nation's only music school dedicated to helping people pursue their interest in music while overcoming the challenges of vision loss.
Turtle Bay Music School – which provides the highest quality music education and experiences to members of the community.
Beekman Hill International School PS 59 – our local neighborhood school instilling a lifelong love of learning to children in grades K through 5.
The Unforgettables Chorus – the first chorus of its kind for people with dementia and their family members and friends.
Whole Foods Market, the largest retailer of natural and organic foods, will be providing refreshments for the performers. "We're incredibly thankful to Whole Foods Market for their generous support to our concert series and our performers," added Byrnes. "We want to ensure that our musical talent is performing at their best, to not only bring the holiday cheer but to raise awareness for their organizations."

Byrnes also thanked Vornado Realty Trust and Boston Properties, which are providing performance space.
