Celebration of English Antiques

Celebration of English Antiques-Recently at The Gallery at 200 Lex at The New York Design Center there was a celebration of English Furniture, from the 1680 – 1760 to English Needlework from 1600 – 1740. Heavy hitters from the Antique world including Christian Jussel, decorative arts and antiques authority known to many as the original host of Antiques Roadshow, and William DeGregorio, an independent scholar in historic textiles and costumes, co-authored The Percival D. Griffiths Collection. Also in attendance was NYDC's CEO Jim Druckman, Gallery Director Suzy Rechtman,  and Abbi and Shannon.

Griffith is seen as "one of the finest collections of early English furniture and needlework". The book brings to life nearly 700 pieces owned by Griffiths and includes images of his interiors.  Griffith is well known in the antique world, he was a London born collector died in 1937 when he fell from his horse while hunting. Christie's auctioned what remained of his collection in 1939.
