WHAT:

The Los Angeles Philharmonic marked the 20th anniversary of Walt Disney Concert Hall at its annual gala concert and paid homage to Frank Gehry, a longtime friend of the LA Phil and the architect behind the iconic downtown LA venue.

The event honored Gehry's iconoclasm with performances by iconoclasts in their own fields, the evening's program journeyed from Walt Disney Concert Hall's storied beginnings to the architect's oceanic inspirations, as represented in the building's steel sails and unprecedented sense of movement. Proceeds from LA Phil Gala: Celebrating Frank Gehry support the Los Angeles Philharmonic's community programs, bringing the joy of music and music making into the lives of 150,000 children and families each year.
