This season in Water Mill, a new kind of gallery is taking shape—not on canvas, but on four wheels. From July 3 through August 23, 2025, the Parrish Art Museum is partnering with the boundary-pushing Hedley Studios to present a one-of-a-kind outdoor exhibition where sculpture meets speed and legacy meets innovation.
Set against the museum’s serene East End grounds, the showcase features Hedley’s meticulously scaled electric recreations of legendary cars from Bugatti, Aston Martin, and Ferrari—vehicles that double as collectible art pieces, engineered with precision and imbued with historical reverence.
Founded in 2019 by engineer and designer Ben Hedley, Hedley Studios operates out of Bicester Heritage in Oxfordshire, England, and is the only studio in the world officially licensed by Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, and Ferrari to create scaled tributes to their most storied models. Each piece is handcrafted by artisans, produced at 66%–85% scale, and powered by electric propulsion—merging sustainability with soul.
“The Parrish has this incredible ability to bring together tradition and innovation. It’s a place that truly celebrates the creative process, which makes it the perfect home for what we do.”Ben Hedley, Founder of Hedley Studios
A 75% scale electric reincarnation of the 1924 Bugatti Type 35, this was the model that launched Hedley Studios. Developed using a full 3D scan of an original French Grand Prix car, the Bugatti Baby II features era-authentic mahogany Nardi steering, leather bonnet straps, and a turned aluminum dashboard. Hedley’s editions are split between “Pur Sang” hand-formed aluminum versions and “Vitesse” carbon fiber builds, each one numbered and finished with a solid silver Bugatti macaron.
An homage to the legendary 1963 DB5 cabriolet immortalized by James Bond, this 66% scale build includes details like Smiths instruments and Aston Martin’s signature wings. The limited “No Time to Die” edition (only 125 made) is kitted out with cinematic flair, featuring simulated gatling guns, a custom license plate that plays the Bond theme, smoke screen, and skid mode.
Crafted at 75% scale in collaboration with Ferrari Classiche in Maranello, this electric tribute to the 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa echoes one of the most iconic racers in motorsport history. Every detail—from the hand-rolled aluminum body to the original steering and suspension geometry—was built to honor the original’s legacy. Only 299 of these collector’s items exist.
This collaboration arrives just ahead of the Parrish Art Museum’s highly anticipated Midsummer Gala on July 19, where guests will be among the first to experience the exhibit in person. For collectors and design enthusiasts seeking deeper insight, the museum will also host a Parrish Collectors’ Talk on August 8, featuring Ben Hedley in conversation about the intersection of art, design, and automotive heritage.
“The Parrish Art Museum is thrilled to partner with Hedley Studios this summer. These extraordinary automobiles represent the kind of creative vision that aligns beautifully with the artistic imagination we foster across our exhibitions and programs.”Mónica Ramírez-Montagut, Parrish Art Museum's Executive Director
With each chassis numbered, signed, and authenticated by the original manufacturers, these driveable sculptures exemplify the museum’s commitment to presenting design that transcends convention. For Hedley Studios, this collaboration is more than an installation—it’s a shared celebration of craftsmanship, history, and artistic legacy.
