Susanne Bartsch Celebrates the Return to NYC Nightlife with The Prisoner Wine Company

Hillary Latos

Known as the reigning queen of NYC nightlife, Susanne Bartsch hosted a  special one-night-only event with The Prisoner Wine Company at NYC's new members-only Chapel Bar to celebrate the return of nightlife in the city and those who come alive at night.

Tapping into her rolodex of extravagant drag queen performers, she called on her flamboyant cohorts including RuPaul's Drag Race winner Aquaria, Joey Arias, Laszlo, Storm Marrero and Ruby Fox to create an unforgettable evening of entertainment.

Inspired by the great nightlife reawakening, Susanne partnered with The Prisoner because it embraces nighttime creatives and those who come alive in the evening. Her one-of-a-kind crowd flocked to the converted 18th century chapel -turned-bar for glasses of the renowned collection of The Prisoner wines, including a Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Red Blend, while cheering on interactive performances including song and dance.

Here are some of the highlights of the vintages served.

  • 2019 The Prisoner Cabernet Sauvignon (SRP $54.99): Made in the same iconic style as the cult-classic Red Blend, this Cabernet Sauvignon features concentrated dark fruit flavors for a lush, full mouthfeel. On the nose, aromas of black cherry and ripe plum mix with vanilla and baking spice.
  • 2019 The Prisoner Chardonnay (SRP $39.99): Made of Chardonnay, Roussanne, and Gewürztraminer grapes, this wine is bursting with aromas of vanilla, crème brûlée, and baked apple. Full-bodied and rich, this Chardonnay integrates flavors of pineapple and toasted oak for a smooth finish.
  • 2019 The Prisoner Red Blend (SRP $49) – As the most recognized Napa Valley red blend, this wine is the culmination of quality and character, featuring deep aromas of Bing cherry, clove and roasted fig that marry the flavors of raspberry and vanilla. Each sip ends with a smooth and luscious finish – the perfect glass to snuggle up with on the couch as chestnuts roast on the open fire.
  • 2019 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (SRP $54.99). The brand's newest addition, available nationwide, is elegant and silky with aromas of strawberry jam, cinnamon spice, dark cherry, and dried herbs. Oak barrel aging imparts hints of vanilla and toast making this dangerously good for all traditional holiday entrees of roast beef.
