Diner en Blanc Returned to NYC to celebrate their 10th Anniversary at Brookfield Place

Hillary Latos

Diner en Blanc celebrated their 10 year anniversary in NYC at Brookfield Place, which was where they first debuted this sensational pop up dinner in the US a decade ago.  As this event always sells out early, 4,000 guests arrived donning their finest white outfits and dined under the stars with a stellar lineup of surprise entertainment including Darrell Thorne Studios including Boy Radio, The Dragon Sisters, and Katherine Crockett, skaters- Jason Acosta, Libby Williams, Kalil Johnson & Sydney Blaylock as well as music from the Tatiana Eva-Marie and the Avalon Jazz Band.  After dinner, everyone danced under the stars to music curated by The Muses.

Celebrity Chef Todd English came to celebrate the festivities with Co Founder Sandy Safi and Diane Blackman, "I love Diner en Blanc, it's a global organization that brings people of all walks of life and cultures together in a peaceful and celebratory manner, and exemplifies that food is our greatest democracy."  He also prepared a curated menu for VIPs and media of Focaccia with tallegio butter and anchovies, mini croissants with lobster salad and caviar, and torched Wagyu tataki with truffle ponzu.  Guests enjoyed champagne exclusively provided by Barons de Rothschild.

While most guests brought their own curated menus and creative table settings, Great Performances also provided catered picnic baskets for guests to order on their website.  Held against the stunning backdrop of downtown NYC and the Hudson River, this was a beautiful night to enjoy the last days of summer with a soiree under the stars with old and new friends.
