On February 7, 2025, CAMPILLO transported attendees at New York Fashion Week into a world where the ordinary meets the surreal. Presented at 180 Maiden Lane, the Fall/Winter 2025 collection, titled Fictions of Reality, drew inspiration from designer Patricio Campillo’s personal memories and the dreamlike essence of Mexican magic realism.
Guided by a deep connection to Latin American culture and surrealist traditions, Campillo’s collection reimagines reality through a lens of wonder and symbolism. Small coffee flowers as buttons, a reference to his childhood spent near coffee plantations, subtly infused the garments with personal storytelling.
The collection explores the interplay of supernatural elements and social narratives, mirroring Latin America’s cultural and political complexities.
Influences from Mexican surrealist painter Remedios Varo led to technically intricate designs with remarkable volume, texture, and structure.
Classic charro tailoring introduced structured silhouettes that blend masculine and feminine aesthetics, reinforcing CAMPILLO’s redefinition of contemporary menswear.
Footwear and belts were exclusively provided by Portuguese Footwear Association (APICCAPS) and Mariano Shoes, reinforcing CAMPILLO’s commitment to expert craftsmanship and detail.
Notable figures from fashion, music, and entertainment gathered to witness the spectacle, with attendees including Saint JHN, Adriel Favela, Estibaliz, Gabriela Berlingeri, RaiNao, B.o.B, and Eva Gutowski.
The immersive presentation was brought to life by an esteemed creative team:
