MUNDO

Owners Guillermo "Willie" Lucerofabbi and Canalp "Jon" Caner were hunting for their favorite dining spots across the city when they concocted the genius concept of Mundo. The posh restaurant previously located in Astoria where it was a local favorite, reopened in Paper Factory Hotel back in 2014 after a two-year hiatus.

Mundo, established in 2005, is famed for its effortless blend of global influences. With a dash of Mediterranean influence and a pinch of Latin efficacy, Mundo presents their sumptuous and palatable international homemade dishes.

The Latin-Mediterranean fusion joint believes their restaurant should not be defined by a specific cuisine because there is nothing wrong with blending the exotic cuisines and cultures together. With easy recipes, meshed with top of the crop ingredients, along with the finest execution of their chefs, it is no wonder their guests constantly return craving for more. Their tapas such as the famous Red Sonja and cheese rolls clearly reflects their core concept.

Mundo now boasts a fancy two-level space with decor that includes a tower of vintage books, a state-of-the-art printing machine and a mind blowing light collection with pieces from all around the globe. Within the walls of this industrial-chic area, the classy restaurant can transform to a booming night spot with a snap of the fingers. The trendy crowd can shake their hips to the latests DJs at Mundo Underground after enjoying a tantalizing dinner.
