On May 29th, 2025, Serafina officially opened its doors at the Miami Worldcenter, bringing a fresh yet familiar presence to Downtown Miami’s ever-evolving culinary scene. With over three decades of international acclaim behind it, the beloved Italian restaurant marks its return to its founding ethos—one centered on community, authenticity, and a lively atmosphere that effortlessly blends high-end sophistication with genuine warmth.

Originally founded in 1995 by Fabio Granato and Vittorio Assaf in New York City, Serafina has grown into a global name, known for its contemporary Italian cuisine and vibrant social energy. But with this new Miami location, the brand circles back to its original vision: a true neighborhood destination where locals and visitors alike can enjoy elevated dining without pretension.

A New Chapter Rooted in Familiar Traditions

The Miami Worldcenter outpost is a revival of what made Serafina a local favorite in the first place. The space seats 283 guests and features indoor and patio dining, a private room for events, and an elegant yet inviting bar. It's designed to balance the buzz of Miami’s social life with the intimacy of an Italian home kitchen.

A highlight of the space is the Marana Forni pizza oven—a centerpiece that enhances not only the quality of the pizzas but also the dining experience itself. It adds an interactive, artisanal element that sets a tone of craftsmanship from the first bite. Complementing this are over 60 wines housed in a striking glass cellar, with 60% of the list dedicated to Italian vintages. Guests can also explore the restaurant’s innovative half-bottle program, making it easier to find the perfect pairing for each dish.

A Miami-Exclusive Culinary Experience

While Serafina’s signature dishes remain a draw, the Miami Worldcenter location introduces a curated selection of locally inspired plates and cocktails. This subtle yet significant nod to the city’s rich cultural identity ensures that the menu resonates with Miami’s sensibilities while staying true to its Italian roots. From breezy alfresco dinners to pre-show drinks before an event at the nearby Kaseya Center, the restaurant’s versatile offering makes it a new go-to for a range of experiences.

A Legacy Reimagined by the Next Generation

At the helm of this new location is Benny Shabtai and his son, David Shabtai. For David, Serafina isn’t just a brand—it’s personal history. “The first Serafina opened the year I was born, a block away from my childhood home,” he recalls.

“It was where we’d gather for family meals. It’s where I had my first date… It embodies a restaurant ambiance that I feel Miami has perhaps lacked in the midst of its rapid growth over the last few years—a true high-end yet comfortable neighborhood establishment.”

This sense of familiarity and intention infuses every element of the Worldcenter restaurant. It’s a concept that speaks to Miami’s current moment—one in which the city is looking to preserve authentic gathering spaces amid its booming development.
