In a city where dining trends often flicker and fade, Rose Café & Restaurant in Sunny Isles Beach is taking a more measured—and meaningful—approach to transformation. This October, the beloved all-day café enters its next chapter, emerging as a full-fledged culinary destination under the name Rose Café & Restaurant. The evolution, led by founder Alexandra Milton, pairs timeless Italian-Mediterranean flavors with a polished yet unpretentious ambiance that invites guests to linger long after espresso hour.

A Natural Next Step

Since opening its doors in 2020, Rose Café has quietly earned a loyal following for its daytime comforts—think flaky croissants, made-to-order omelets, pressed panini, and expertly pulled espresso. But beneath its laid-back exterior was always an appetite for more. That expansion now comes to life through a new dining room, a refined dinner service, and an expertly curated wine and cocktail program designed to stretch the café’s reach from early morning through late-night bites.

“We’ve always imagined Rose as an effortlessly stylish neighborhood spot. A place to grab a pastry and espresso in the morning, catch up with a friend over lunch, or ease into the evening with wine and dinner,” says Milton.

“This next phase is about extending that rhythm—offering something thoughtful and inviting at every time of day, while staying true to the warmth and quality our guests already know and love.”

Design That Speaks Volumes

Helmed by Heather Ashtin Design, the expanded interior spans 2,000 square feet and effortlessly walks the line between elegant and approachable. Diners enter through the original room, where mauve velvet chairs and a calming blue accent wall provide a serene daytime backdrop. Pastel floral touches, including a whimsical phone booth, offer a hint of play.

The newly unveiled dining room adds drama and depth: emerald green velvet seating, hand-painted ceilings in gold and green tones, and blush-pink chandeliers set the tone for slow dinners and evening wine. Jewel-toned bar stools, brass accents, and a mirrored bar reflect a layered aesthetic that’s both contemporary and timeless. With seating for up to 100 guests between the indoor and outdoor spaces, the layout allows for intimate date nights, lively gatherings, or solo escapes with a glass of Barolo in hand.

Rooted in the Land, Refined on the Plate

At its core, Rose Café & Restaurant remains devoted to the principles that earned its status as a Sunny Isles favorite: quality, seasonality, and sustainability. Much of the organic produce used across the menu is sourced from the restaurant’s own farm, giving each dish a distinct sense of place—and peak-season freshness.

While the full dinner menu is still under wraps, the forthcoming selections promise bold Italian-Mediterranean character. Expect house-made antipasti, shareable small plates, fresh seafood, and vegetable-forward entrées that spotlight the region’s coastal bounty. A carefully assembled wine and cocktail list will complement the menu, while a relaxed wine bar offers a more informal way to experience the new space.

Something for Every Hour

Though the transformation is most visible in the evening, Rose still honors its origins. Its signature grab-and-go counter continues to serve juices, smoothies, sandwiches, and pastries for guests on the move. Breakfast and lunch hours remain unchanged—7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends—preserving the café’s role as a morning ritual and mid-day retreat.

Valet service will be available to all guests, making the transition from street to seat seamless.

As Sunny Isles continues to grow into a luxury lifestyle destination, Rose Café & Restaurant stands as a thoughtful reminder that evolution doesn’t have to mean excess. Sometimes, it just means allowing something you love to bloom a little further.
