May 23rd, 2025 – The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF Hamptons) welcomed families, animal lovers, and local leaders to its beloved Pet Celebration Day 2025—a heartfelt homage to five decades of lifesaving animal rescue work. Held at the ARF Adoption Center at 124 Daniels Hole Road in East Hampton, the free community event brought together dogs, cats, and their human companions for an afternoon dedicated to joy, education, and impact.

More than just a festive gathering, the celebration spotlighted ARF’s evolving mission to provide sanctuary and lifelong care for the area’s homeless pets. Now in its 50th year, ARF Hamptons continues to play a vital role on Long Island through its adoption services, community outreach, and progressive animal welfare programs.

Throughout the event, guests had the opportunity to engage with ARF’s full suite of programs, from the Operation Cat TNR (trap-neuter-return) initiative to dog training and socialization classes. Staff and volunteers were on hand to speak with attendees about how to get involved—whether through fostering, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness.

The day’s activities catered to all ages and species. Children enjoyed face painting and crafts while pet parents took advantage of the dog agility course, “Ask the Trainer” sessions, complimentary nail clippings, and free microchipping. Low-cost vaccines were also available, further emphasizing ARF’s commitment to accessible pet healthcare.

Food and refreshments, including coffee, candy, and local favorites, fueled the fun, while a curated vendor lineup offered everything from grooming products to pet apparel. Among the participating partners were The Baker House 1650, Bloom Groom, Blue’s Paws, Citarella, Calm Home Canine, Dylan’s Candy Bar, and Invisible Fence—underscoring the region’s strong network of pet-forward businesses.

Of course, no visit to the ARF Adoption Center would be complete without meeting its resident stars. Throughout the afternoon, guests had the chance to interact with ARF’s adoptable cats and dogs—each one a living reminder of the organization's mission: to offer second chances and permanent homes.

The day also served as a platform to raise awareness about ARF’s upcoming initiatives, including the launch of low-cost spay and neuter clinics later this spring. These services will build upon the nonprofit’s long-standing work in population control, wellness, and community education.

Prominent supporters turned out to show their solidarity, including Kim Nichols, Jamie Berger, Ellen Scarborough, Kathee Burke-Gonzalez, and Ann Welker. Their presence underscored the event’s significance—not only as a celebration, but as a rallying point for a cause that continues to shape the fabric of East Hampton and beyond.

Looking ahead, ARF Hamptons is preparing to launch its inaugural Community Giving Week, running from May 17 through May 24, 2025. The weeklong campaign will shine a light on the individuals and stories that power ARF’s mission, from pantry volunteers and youth program facilitators to donors supporting expanded veterinary services.

Through storytelling and community engagement, Community Giving Week will underscore how everyday actions—large and small—can fuel life-changing outcomes for animals in need.
