The Times Square EVEN Hotel greets guests with a nature-induced setting that features recycled and local materials that include wood textured walls, grey stone ceramic tiles and cork floors. At check-in guests view a glass enclosed wall that resembles the interior cross-section of the planet Earth. Gabion walls and 15-foot stone columns are displayed throughout the lobby while digitally produced large-scale grass covers the walls.

The hotel is the design of Glen Coben, founder and owner of Glen & Company Architecture.

"We designed EVEN from nature, immersing natural elements such as water, grass, wood and stone into the space," commented Coben. "Our goal was to create an atmosphere that enhances the wellness experience within the hotel, which ultimately provides maximum relaxation for guests.

Coben was also responsible for the Four Points Platt Hotel for the Starwood Group. Located in the financial district, the hotel reflects the bustling neighborhood and the historic location. The hotel features a full service restaurant, two roof top bars and a fitness center.

"It was a great opportunity to work with the Starwood Four Points Team in the design of this downtown hotel," Coben commented. "The Financial District is one of the most iconic destinations in the world and it was a lot of fun telling its financial story through design."

The design channels the power brokers and a child-like thrill of experiencing a banking hall for the first time. Reclaimed safe deposit boxes line one wall of the lobby and another has an oversized black and white photo of a giant safe door. A ticker seems to be telling of the rise and fall of stocks.
