May 27th, 2025 – With its third superyacht poised to set sail, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is once again charting a bold course at the intersection of luxury hospitality and immersive travel. Luminara, the newest addition to its growing fleet, will make its maiden voyage from Monte Carlo to Rome on July 3, 2025—marking a significant expansion of the brand’s presence across Europe, Asia, and North America.
Spanning 794 feet and accommodating just 452 guests in 226 refined suites, Luminara builds on the brand’s commitment to transforming the cruising experience into something more akin to a private floating sanctuary. Designed to evoke the interplay between light, form, and fluidity, this superyacht is more than a means of travel—it is an expression of place, purpose, and precision.
The name Luminara, derived from the Latin for “light,” serves as both guiding philosophy and design directive. A collaboration between celebrated design houses including Chapi Design Luxury Division, AD Associates, and lighting specialists DPA, the yacht’s interiors blend contemporary craftsmanship with maritime elegance. Materials like Arabescato Corchia marble and warm walnut woods are offset by sculptural lighting and soft oceanic tones, while curved architecture echoes the fluidity of the sea itself.
Each suite features a private terrace, and upper-category suites are outfitted with bespoke furnishings from revered names such as Minotti, Giorgetti, and Poltrona Frau. The newly introduced Residential Suite, layered with Emporada marble, smoked glass, and tactile accents like Oak Jacobean and warm timbers, delivers the intimacy of a high-design residence with panoramic sea views.
Aboard Luminara, art is not decoration—it is narrative. The curated collection of 731 pieces includes works by celebrated artists such as Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Andy Warhol, and Alexander Calder. Approximately 65% of the collection was commissioned exclusively for the yacht, many inspired by Malta’s cultural and maritime heritage. A soaring, seven-story suspended light sculpture in the aft staircase serves as a luminous centerpiece, uniting the decks in a vertical expression of artistry and movement.
Culinary excellence continues to define The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection experience, and Luminara expands that legacy with five distinct dining concepts. Seta su Luminara, helmed by Michelin-starred Fabio Trabocchi, offers an eight-course tasting menu inspired by Venice’s spice routes, while Beach House—curated by chef Michael Mina—brings the heat with bold Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors rooted in his Egyptian heritage.
Other standout venues include Azur, showcasing seasonal, locally sourced ingredients; Haesu Bit, a pan-Asian journey spanning Japanese, Thai, Korean, and Vietnamese influences; and Mistral, a seafood-forward ode to the Mediterranean coast. At sea and at the table, Luminara delivers a global perspective shaped by flavor, place, and storytelling.
From the expansive Marina Terrace with its floating lounge platform to the panoramic pool on Deck 10, Luminara’s outdoor spaces invite connection with the sea in curated comfort. Guests can swim directly in open water, explore with Seabobs and electric foil boards, or relax under the sun with seamless access to tailored service.
The wellness experience is equally elevated. The Ritz-Carlton Spa®, with eleven treatment rooms and therapies by ESPA, 111SKIN, and Pisterzi, offers signature experiences such as the Awakening Bamboo Massage and Detoxifying Wellness Poultice Treatment—rooted in the yacht’s Asia-Pacific itineraries.
Luxury shopping aboard Luminara is anything but predictable. In partnership with Starboard Luxury, the yacht will feature onboard boutiques from Cartier, Piaget, and IWC Schaffhausen—many offering first-at-sea exclusives. The curated concept shop will include rare vintage Hermès bags, embroidered clutches from Olympia Le-Tan, and sustainable handbags by Stella McCartney, alongside capsule collections from La DoubleJ, Johanna Ortiz, and Orlebar Brown.
Luminara will extend The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s global reach with new itineraries in Asia and Alaska—firsts for the brand. Following its Mediterranean debut, the yacht will explore the Indian Ocean and Africa before embarking on Asia-Pacific voyages in December 2025. Destinations such as Hạ Long Bay, Osaka, and Bangkok will anchor these sailings, with itineraries emphasizing cultural immersion and refined adventure. By May 2026, Luminara will spend the summer navigating the rugged coastlines of Alaska and Canada.
“With Luminara, we've raised the bar once again. This remarkable superyacht opens the door to new destinations and deeper guest experiences, reinforcing our commitment to thoughtful exploration and continuous innovation across the fleet.”Ernesto Fara, President of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection
