Rhonda's Kiss is an extraordinary non-profit organization, offering more than just emotional support to cancer patients. Established in honor of Rhonda Stefanski, who lost her battle to pancreatic cancer, this family-run charity aims to lessen the financial burdens often associated with cancer treatment. They recently held their second annual Legacy of Love Gala in New York City at TAO Downtown, spotlighting the critical role that financial support plays in the fight against cancer.
The Legacy of Love Gala was a hit, attracting an impressive lineup of celebrities, influencers, and philanthropists. Names like Zach Braff, Katie Cassidy, and Danny A. Abeckaser graced the event, along with musical performances from legends like Slick Rick featuring DJ Kaos and Young Paris. The event aimed to raise funds for the Maimonides Cancer Center Patient Care Program, in a collaborative effort with Rhonda's Kiss.
Guests were treated to a range of premium beverages, including El Cristiano Tequila, Casa Luigi Prosecco, Mercer+Prince Whisky, and Maison No. 9 Rose. The gala featured both silent and live auctions, special live performances, and an open bar complemented by delicious hors d'oeuvres.
Rhonda's Kiss takes a holistic approach to cancer care, providing patients with financial assistance for non-medical expenses such as rent, groceries, and transportation to treatments. To date, the organization has generously donated over $2 million to support these essential aspects of patient care.
Through their partnership with Maimonides Hospital Cancer Center in Brooklyn, Rhonda's Kiss has established a Patient Care Program that offers additional financial support to patients and their families as they navigate the immense challenges that cancer brings into their lives.
Kyle Stefanski, Rhonda's son and the Executive Director of Rhonda's Kiss, aptly summarizes their mission: "We are blessed to have the assistance of our national partners such as Maimonides and supporters to continue to build a legacy of helping others fight this terrible disease through the memory of my mother."
The main fundraising activities for Rhonda's Kiss happen through their national events, bolstered by local fundraising. They've previously held impactful events in cities like Cleveland, Los Angeles, and Palm Beach with a star-studded attendance list, further contributing to their charitable efforts.
