The Hamptons social calendar delivered another night of purpose and elegance as Daryl and Irwin Simon welcomed more than 400 guests to their Bridgehampton home for the fourth annual Fork It Alzheimer’s fundraiser. The sold-out event raised an impressive $800,000 in support of the Alzheimer’s Association, specifically funding prevention-focused research and public awareness initiatives.

Founded in 2019, the Fork It Fund has now generated $4 million for cutting-edge prevention studies, underscoring the Simons’ dedication to advancing science-backed strategies to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. The cause resonates nationally, with more than 7 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s and nearly 12 million family members and friends serving as unpaid caregivers—656,000 of them in New York state alone.

Guests Gather Under the Tent for an Evening of Philanthropy and Community

An Evening of Connection and Commitment

Guests arrived to a sunset cocktail hour under a white tent, where the atmosphere balanced Hamptons sophistication with the warmth of community. Beverages flowed courtesy of Montaukila, Montauk Brewing Company, Blue Point Brewing Company, Breckenridge Distillery, LinkUp Rum Punch, Cruisies, and Palm Bay International Wine. Culinary highlights included seasonal food stations by The Lobster Roll and Charles Pan-Fried Chicken, both sourcing from local purveyors.

Floral décor by Audrey in the Garden and event styling by Hampton Yards transformed the grounds, while DJ M.O.S. kept the energy high well into the evening.

Research Impact and Personal Stories

A highlight of the night came with a special video presentation from Dr. Arthur Toga of the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, whose Fork It-funded work with the Global Alzheimer’s Association Interactive Network (GAAIN) is making worldwide research data more accessible—accelerating the potential for breakthroughs.

“What started as a grassroots event has grown into something truly powerful. Since we kicked off Fork It, we have raised more than $4 million to fund prevention research and support brilliant scientists making huge advancements.”

Alzheimer’s Association President and CEO Joanne Pike, DrPH, described the Fork It initiative as “truly inspiring,” noting that the event not only raises essential funds but also fosters a united community determined to change the future of Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The evening’s most poignant moment came when Brian Peikin, a NYC Chapter Junior Board member, shared his family’s experience following his mother’s diagnosis at just 53. His story set the tone for a spirited Fund-A-Need campaign, led by Next Gen Committee member Trevor Simon, which added more than $100,000 to the evening’s total.

As the Hamptons’ summer season winds down, the Fork It benefit stands as a testament to the region’s ability to merge elegance with advocacy—proving that philanthropy, when paired with genuine community spirit, can have a lasting impact well beyond one night.
