When tennis royalty and star power collide in paradise, the result is anything but ordinary. Baha Mar—the Bahamas’ crown jewel resort destination—has officially announced the return of its signature tennis event: the sixth-annual Baha Mar Cup, taking place December 11–14, 2025. This year marks the tournament’s most ambitious iteration yet, with the debut of a Celebrity Pro-Am Tournament, expanded programming, and the return of tennis greats to benefit a cause that reaches far beyond the court.

Set across the white sands and turquoise backdrop of Nassau, the Baha Mar Cup is more than a tournament—it’s a philanthropic festival of sport, luxury, and community. The event raises funds for both the Baha Mar Resort Foundation and the Mark Knowles Children's Tennis Initiative, organizations committed to uplifting Bahamian youth through sport, education, and cultural access.

A Celebrity-Fueled Serve for a Cause

Tennis Legends John McEnroe & Mark Knowles

The headline addition to this year’s programming is the inaugural Celebrity Pro-Am, a dazzling showcase pairing eight globally recognized stars with eight elite tennis professionals in a format designed for both serious competition and lighthearted camaraderie.

Hosted once again by tennis legend John McEnroe and Bahamian icon Mark Knowles, the 2025 Baha Mar Cup brings together a who’s who of past and present stars, with previous tournaments welcoming the likes of Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Lindsey Davenport, Andy Roddick, Genie Bouchard, and Victoria Azarenka. This year’s full lineup of participants—both celebrity and pro—is expected to be announced in the coming months.

A Four-Day Festival of Sport and Indulgence

Baha Mar Foundation Dinner & Cocktail Reception

Thursday, December 11 kicks off with daytime Pro Clinics for all skill levels, followed by a cocktail reception at Rosewood Baha Mar, where guests can mix and mingle with tennis luminaries and VIPs.

Friday, December 12 features the Pro-Am Tournament, a competitive round-robin event where amateur players face off with seasoned pros, culminating in exhibition matches under the lights. Later that evening, a gourmet dinner hosted by Marcus Samuelsson sets the tone for a weekend where cuisine and sport share equal spotlight.

The marquee Celebrity Pro-Am Tournament takes place Saturday, December 13, with pairings unveiled courtside and matches played before a crowd of invited guests. The evening closes with the Baha Mar Foundation Dinner & Cocktail Reception, a fundraising celebration filled with fine dining and elevated networking.

Sunday, December 14 concludes the experience with a Live Ball clinic and other skill-building sessions led by pros, along with a complimentary Kids Clinic for local youth—a fitting reminder of the weekend’s deeper purpose.

Since its debut, the Baha Mar Cup has raised over $300,000 for local youth tennis programs and community initiatives across the islands. The tournament not only amplifies Baha Mar’s philanthropic efforts but also highlights its investment in world-class facilities, including the John McEnroe Tennis Center—now the Caribbean’s premier destination for tennis enthusiasts. The complex features six hard courts, two Har-Tru clay courts, six pickleball courts, and a pro shop, ensuring the spirit of the game lives year-round.

“This event not only showcases the joy of tennis but also brings together remarkable talent for a great cause.” Mark Knowles added, “It’s an honor to be able to give back to my community and help grow the sport in my home country.”
